Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are highly trained clinicians who work independently of our GPs to provide safe, timely, expert care.

NP Deb Rowston is a highly experienced clinician and joined Glengarry Medical Group in 2026.

What is a Nurse Practitioner?

A Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice clinician with:

  • A nursing degree plus postgraduate Masters-level training

  • Authority to assess, diagnose, prescribe medications, and order tests

  • Expertise in managing both everyday health needs and long‑term conditions

They work independently and collaboratively with our doctors to support your care.

What Can They Help With?

  • General health concerns

  • check-ups with follow-up appointments

  • Prescriptions and medication reviews

  • Long term health management (e.g., managing diabetes, asthma, heart health)

  • Women’s and men’s health

  • Mental health support

  • Wound care and minor injuries

  • Immunisations and preventive health

  • Ordering and interpreting pathology and imaging

  • Wellness, Health checks and follow-up reviews

  • In person: ask our reception team

Nurse Practitioner appointments are available throughout the week.

Fees

Appointments with Nurse Practitioners are privately billed.
